Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect the information you share with us through this website.
Effective September 5, 2026. This policy covers datatrans.org. If we change it, we will change the date above and describe what changed.
Stop 01 · Privacy
The short version
We collect very little. If you fill in a form, we get what you typed and we email it to ourselves so we can reply. That is nearly all of it.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade it. We do not run advertising, and we do not use analytics or tracking tools to follow you around the internet. We do not build profiles about you.
The sections below explain the details, including the two security cookies our host sets and the one preference we store on your own device.

Who we are
DATA Mobility Partners is a division of the Dulles Area Transportation Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Reston, Virginia. We are responsible for this website and for the information you send us through it.

Stop 03 · Privacy
What we collect
What you give us. When you use the contact form we collect your name, your email address, and your message. When you sign up for the newsletter we collect your email address. If you choose to tell us more in a message — for example, which program you are asking about — we receive that too, because you wrote it.
What is collected automatically. Like almost every website, our host records ordinary technical information when a page is requested: the IP address the request came from, the type of browser and device, the page requested, and the date and time. This is used to serve the site, keep it available, and defend it against attacks and automated abuse.
What we do not collect. We do not collect payment card details anywhere on this site. We do not ask for, and do not want, any health information, disability documentation, immigration status, or other sensitive personal details through this website. If you are applying for a program that needs that kind of information, we will collect it directly from you by another route and tell you why.

How we use it
We use what you send us to do the thing you asked for: to answer your question, to follow up about a program, to add you to the newsletter, or to put you in touch with the right member of staff.
We use the automatic technical information to operate and secure the site — for example, to block automated attacks or to work out why a page is failing.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and your device
Two security cookies. Our hosting provider sets cookies named __cf_bm and _cfuvid. These come from Cloudflare, which sits in front of this site, and they are used to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic and to apply rate limits. They are not advertising cookies and are not used to profile you. They expire on their own, within about thirty minutes in the case of __cf_bm.
One preference on your device. If you use the A− / A+ text-size control, we save your choice in your browser's local storage under the name dmp-text-size, so the site remembers it next time. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
No advertising or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable tool, and there are no advertising or social-media tracking pixels on this site. If we ever add analytics, we will update this page before we turn them on.
Stop 06 · Privacy
Who else handles your information
We keep the list of companies that touch your information as short as we can. Today it is:
Webflow Cloud and Cloudflare host and deliver this website, and handle the technical request information and security cookies described above.
Resend delivers the email that carries your form submission to us. Your name, email address, and message pass through Resend on the way to our inbox.
Google Workspace hosts our staff email, so your message sits in our mailbox there once it arrives.
These companies act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own marketing. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
Stop 07 · Privacy
Payments
This website does not currently accept payments online. Donations and membership dues are sent to us by post, so no card or bank details are entered on, transmitted by, or stored by this site.
If you type an amount or a membership tier into a form on the donation or membership pages, that stays in your browser. It is not sent to us.
When online giving is introduced, we will update this page to name the payment processor and explain how your details are handled before any payment can be made.
Stop 08 · Privacy
Video and links to other websites
Some pages include a video hosted on YouTube. The video does not load until you press play — until then, nothing about your visit is sent to YouTube. When you do press play, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and from that point YouTube's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.
Volunteer sign-up forms are hosted by Google. When you sign up to volunteer for the Volunteer Driver Programs or NOVA Food for All, the button takes you to a Google Form. What you enter there goes to Google and then to us — it does not pass through this website — and while you are on that form Google's privacy policy applies as well as ours. We use what you submit to contact you about volunteering and to run the program you signed up for.
This site also links out to other organizations, funders, and partners. Once you follow a link away from datatrans.org you are on someone else's website, their privacy policy governs what happens there, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Stop 09 · Privacy
How long we keep it
Form submissions arrive as email and stay in our mailbox as part of our ordinary correspondence, in the same way a letter or a phone message would. We keep them while they are useful for the purpose you sent them for, and for our records afterwards.
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Technical request logs are short-lived and are kept only as long as our host needs them for security and reliability.
If you would like us to delete something you have sent us, ask — see the next section.
Stop 10 · Privacy
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to data@datatrans.org and we will respond. There is no charge for this, and you do not need to give a reason.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Write to us and we will take you off the list, and every mailing we send will carry an unsubscribe link.
You can refuse cookies through your browser settings. The two security cookies described above help protect the site, so blocking them may affect how it behaves, but you are free to do so.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under state or national law. Write to us and we will honor any right that applies to you, whether or not we are strictly required to.
Stop 11 · Privacy
Children
This website is intended for adults and for organizations. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, write to data@datatrans.org and we will delete it.
Stop 12 · Privacy
Security, changes, and contact
Security. This site is served over an encrypted connection, and what you send through a form is encrypted on its way to the service that delivers it to us. No website can promise perfect security, but we deliberately keep the amount of information we collect small — the safest data is the data you never held.
Changes. If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant — adding analytics, or turning on online payments — we will update this page before that change goes live, not after.
